What an exotic piercing is and how to get one

If you have multiple piercings and find yourself bit by the
“piercing bug” often, chances are you are looking to find a really
unique piercing to have done. You might want something that’s not
often seen on the street -- or perhaps something that’s not seen on
the surface at all. What you are looking for is an exotic piercing.
The term refers to a myriad of piercings. A type of exotic body
piercing might be an orbital ear piercing, where one piece of
jewelry goes through two different wholes on the ear. It could be a
surface piercing that isn’t usually attempted because of the
difficulty in healing. And of course exotic piercings often refer to
genital piercings.
Other than surface piercings, which put more stress on the body,
exotic body piercings generally aren’t any harder to heal and take
care of than other more typical piercings of the tongue, navel,
nose, ear or labret. Genital piercings require abstinence for the
initial part of healing and safe sex practices for the remainder of
the process. However, because you don’t have as easy access to a
genital body piercing throughout the day – it’s less handled and
therefore healing isn’t very difficult.
If you are looking to try an exotic body piercing that you
haven’t ever seen done, talk with your local piercing artist. He or
she may be able to put you in touch with someone who has a lot of
experience in performing exotic and experimental piercings. With
your body as an artistic canvas, there are very few limits.
