Horseshoe rings, also called circular barbells, come in the basic
styles you see everywhere, curved barbells that have a ball on
either end. But they are also available in a lot of other unusual
styles that go beyond the ordinary. If you’re looking for something
different, try some of the newer horseshoe shaped rings that can
dress up your septum piercing.
Keep the traditional circular shape by try unusual balls on the
end to change your look. Horseshoe shaped rings that have oversized
ends made of glitter glass or in the shape of dice and other objects
are definitely eye-catching. These rings also come with spike ends
to add a touch of the dangerous to your look and can be bought in a
wide range of gauges to suit your piercing.
Pincher rings have the traditional horseshoe shape, but are
thicker in the middle and taper on either end to points. These use O
rings on either end to keep them in place, and are popular in 6 and
8 gauges.
The most common place to wear a horseshoe ring is in septums,
belly buttons and eyebrow piercings. They are versatile and liked by
a lot of people for their ease of cleaning. Many professional
piercers swear by them as the best style for initial piercing
jewelry because they can be easily turned for good cleaning of a
fresh piercing and because they allow for some swelling. Their
stylish appearance and comfort means you’ll want to wear these rings
long after the piercing is healed.
