Enjoy all the fun without the permanence with a temporary tattoo

November 26, 2004
By:  Bob Whitehead

Tattoos are more popular than ever these days. People love presenting messages about what they love or what they believe in through art on their bodies. However, not all of us are comfortable with the permanence of tattoos. A temporary tattoo used to be just something for children to enjoy. Now, even adults can enjoy the fun of body art without the last effects with a temporary tattoo.

The benefits of using a temporary tattoo instead of a permanent one are numerous. You can constantly change the styles and try out a lot of different looks. They are pain-free and there is no risk from needles. Application is quick and easy. For added fun, couples can apply them to each other. For instance, a belly button tattoo is sexy as it is, but it’s even better when your partner puts it on.

The standard sticker temporary tattoo that we wore as children is more high quality for adult use. There’s also another form of temporary tattoo in the form of a stamp. These last up to five days and work just like ink stamps for the body. The stamp tattoos take merely seconds to dry, are waterproof, and can be removed with rubbing alcohol.

You can also get a temporary tattoo from Henna. There are kits with stencils and ink to do it from home with friends, or you can have a Henna tattoo professionally applied. This ancient art form from India is gaining in popularity in the United States. The fine, delicate, swirling patterns Henna art produces is an effect unlike that of other temporary tattoos. It’s a beautiful change of pace and really gets noticed.

There are so many ways to get a temporary tattoo. Now those who are too young to get tattooed or would like something that doesn’t last forever can enjoy body art.
