What you should know about getting a triangle piercing

January 4, 2005
By:  Bob Whitehead

One of the more sexually stimulating options for a woman considering a genital piercing is the triangle piercing. It is placed behind the clitoris and below the clitoral hood. In order to get to accommodate this piercing, a woman has to be able to have enough skin so that when the clitoris is moved away from the body, the area has room for a piece of jewelry.

For this reason, triangle piercings are not very common. In turn, it may be difficult to find experienced piercing artists to perform it for you. Spend the time getting to know the professionals at the piercing studios near you. If they are not qualified to perform it, they can put you in touch with someone who can.

BME has a lot of stories from women who’ve had this piercing done. They list the studio where the piercing took place and the artist who performed it, so you may stumble across a studio in your area.

A lot of these women describe a preliminary visit. This is an extremely good idea. The artist does need to determine if your anatomy can accommodate the piercing. You also get the chance to spend some time in determining if this person is the right one to pierce you. Is it a reputable studio? Do you feel comfortable? Are your needs being put first? Do the customers seem happy leaving? These are all things you should keep in mind.

The piercing takes about two to three months to heal. A salt bath can help ease the pain you experience during the healing process. Saliva and semen should not touch the piercing during healing, so protect yourself accordingly during sex. Avoiding infection is the first step in enjoying your new piercing.
