Eyebrow piercings prefer specific gauges

Eyebrow piercings are in an area of the body where gravity works
against having too much weight in the initial piercing, particularly
before the wounds are completely healed, so gauge is very important.
When getting your eyebrow pierced, be sure to discuss this with
your piercer, as it will also depend upon the thickness of your skin
and where along the eyebrow you are getting pierced.
In general, an 18 to 14 gauge is about the range that’s going to
be comfortable with most piercings to the eyebrow. With some captive bead
rings you may be able to start as small as a 20 gauge, but this
should be up to your piercer. Anything larger than a 14 gauge and
you run the risk of the weight simply being to much and the barbell
or ring dragging down and either stretching your piercings
out of shape or actually pulling the rings out of the eyebrow skin.
The wrong gauge is also a frequent contributor to migration
problems in this area of the face, because a gauge that is too small
can also cause complications like the cutting through the skin
around your eyebrow.
The final consideration should be what your professional piercer
recommends for your eyebrow piercing. She’s done plenty of them,
and she will study your eyebrows and know what to recommend to get
the best possible results for you.
