Navel rings can get pretty elaborate

Navel rings used to be confined to the standard
half loop with a small ball on one end and a larger ball or jewel on
the other end in most cases. That’s no longer the case as more and
more women see that navel rings have moved into the mainstream.
What was once unusual has become common, so
women with navel rings are looking for other ways to make their
belly button rings stand out from the crowd. They want their navel
piercing to be unique, so they find more elaborate body jewelry to
wear and show off their belly buttons.
Some navel rings now have dangles attached to
the lower ball (the one that protrudes from the belly button
itself). These may be stationary, or they may actually be loose and
swing with your body movement. Some are dangling stones or
crystals, and others have branches of two or three dangles so that
they are as elaborate as a chandelier earring.
Other navel rings that are gaining favor are
belly huggies or top dangles. These have the dangle or a larger,
solid motif (a star or jeweled flower for instance) that is attached
to the top ball, which sits above the navel. This gives the effect
of the motif actually “framing” the navel. These navel rings are
also more elaborate than the standard bent barbell belly button
rings of the past.
So if you’ve had a navel piercing for a few
years but are tired of the same old thing, try some of the newer,
fancier navel rings out there, and you’re sure to get noticed all
over again.
