A nipple shield is a great addition to your body modification wardrobe if you already have nipple piercings and are looking for ways to dress up those beauties a bit more. They come in several different types of metal and, because these don’t actually pierce the skin, you have some leeway as to what you can buy. Although buying the best quality you can afford is always a good idea, you can get a great assortment of less expensive nipple shields to vary your look and try them all out with your nipple rings.

These shields come in all kinds of styles, from sleek silver stars for that patriotic look to elaborate spider webs or three dimensional flames. Want something popular and in style right now? You might want to consider the sunburst design made famous by Janet Jackson. Some designs can extend out as far as two inches from the center of the nipple, while others may only be an inch across total. For the more daring, there are also spiked versions with rings of spikes going either straight out or straight forward from the breast’s nipple.

When buying nipple piercing shields, be sure to check whether the barbells are included. Some include the barbells, others don’t. If they don’t, assume that they will fit a standard 14g barbell or smaller, which is the standard for these flashy add-ons.
