Your guide to discovering the male genital piercing that’s right for you

As body piercing has grown more popular, piercing enthusiasts and
artists have grown more experimental in an effort to create new and
unique looks. Male genital piercing reflects this idea, as the
piercings run the gamut from popular, standard procedures to more
complicated, anatomically-specific ones.
There are eight basic types of male genital piercings. Becoming
familiar with what each one is will help you be more prepared when
you talk to your piercing artist about getting one of these
piercings.
The dydoe piercing is done on the front of the penis, through the
ridge of the glans. It’s fairly painful, though some say it may
increase sexual stimulation. The ridge has to be large enough to
accommodate jewelry
The guiche is a fairly rare piercing located behind the testicles
and in front of the anus, in the perineum. It is a surface piercing
and healing is very difficult because of the location.
Scrotum piercings are also called hafada piercings. The scrotum
can be pierced in almost any location you like. However, it is
difficult to heal because the area is prone to sweat.
Uncircumcised penises can support a foreskin piercing, which
tends to heal quickly and helps increase sexual stimulation.
An ampallang piercing actually goes through the head of the
penis. It is a difficult and rather painful piercing, as there are
arteries that have to be avoided. This is a rare piercing. The
apadravya is a similar piercing in location, pain, and difficulty,
except the jewelry is inserted vertically. Both take up to a year to
fully heal.
Frenum piercings are placed on the underside of the penis, below
the head. Multiple piercings can put done in this location. It’s a
fairly common piercing, second only to the Prince Albert – both are
less painful and quick to heal. Prince Albert piercings go through
the urethra and end under the glans.
Do you want to go for a basic piercing or a more adventurous one?
Now that you understand what each piercing is, you can decide which
is best for you.
